TFP Model Collaboration

8AM TFP Overview

Thinking of collaborating with 8AM on a TFP shoot? Here’s the short version:

  • We create authentic, high-quality imagery for stock licensing, editorial use, and our portfolio.

  • You get professional experience plus edited images to use on your socials or in your portfoliono payment either way.

  • Most shoots are outdoors, active, and real: climbing, hiking, running, camping, adventure lifestyle.

  • You’ll usually wear your own wardrobe — think climbing gear, trailwear, or anything that fits the environment and your style.

  • TFP at 8AM isn’t about one-off vanity content. It’s about building long-term creative partnerships. If we click, there’s every chance we’ll bring you in on commissioned shoots for commercial clients.

  • This work supports our stock library. We don’t track image sales to individual models — it’s not scalable. But if you're easy to work with and bring something unique, you’ll stay on our radar.

  • You’ll need to be 18+ (or have a guardian sign off), and comfortable being photographed in natural, active environments.

We understand you may have a bunch of questions, have a look in the info sections below, and if you still have anything you can’t get your head around, Contact Us here and we’ll be happy to help!

What’s TFP?

  • TFP stands for Time for Prints, or more realistically now, Time for Photos. It’s a trade — we each invest our time, energy, and skills, and in return we both walk away with something of value. You’re not paying us, and we’re not paying you. You get a set of professionally edited images to use for your own self-promotion, and we get imagery for our portfolio, marketing, and stock licensing. It’s a low-pressure, high-value way to create something awesome together — without a client hovering in the background or a big commercial brief to satisfy.

  • You’ll receive a curated set of 5–10 fully edited, high-resolution images — selected for quality and variety. These are yours to use on social media, in your portfolio, on your website, or when pitching to agencies or brands.

If you’re building a professional portfolio, these are exactly the kinds of images that help you stand out. Most TFP shoots tend to be studio-based or shot in urban settings, often by up-and-coming photographers. This is different.

8AM brings a professional level of planning, gear, and post-production — but without the pressure of a commercial job. And because we shoot outdoors, in real environments, the results look and feel more natural, lived-in, and cinematic than what you’ll get in most traditional setups.

You’ll also gain on-location experience — learning how to move with the camera, work with natural light, and adapt to wild or changing conditions. It’s relaxed, collaborative, and a great way to build both your confidence and your content.

  • TFP shoots at 8AM feed into a larger body of work — especially our stock and editorial collections. That means the images may be licensed and sold for commercial or editorial use.

We don’t track sales back to individual models or offer royalties — that’s not practical or sustainable for our workflow. But what we do build is relationships.

If we like working with you, and you bring something unique, we’ll remember that. Many of our collaborators go on to paid, commissioned shoots for outdoor brands, tourism clients, or editorial features.

What We Shoot

  • Everything we shoot is real. Real people, real effort, real terrain. It’s outdoors, it’s unfiltered (except for the colour grade), and it’s honest.

We shoot in wild places, using natural light, and often in unpredictable conditions. You won’t be standing still in a white box. You’ll be in motion, in nature, and in your element.

The vibe is raw, cinematic, and grounded in reality — and that’s what makes it powerful.

  • We focus on authentic, outdoor-based storytelling. Our TFP shoots often cover:

    • Climbing – bouldering, sport, trad (we shoot a lot of it)

    • Trail running and hiking – movement, pace, effort

    • Camping and overland lifestyle – tents, 4WDs, early mornings

    • Adventure lifestyle – real-life moments off-grid, gear in use

    • Editorial portraits – strong natural light character shots

We might be shooting at dawn, during golden hour, or while hiking to a cliff. Flexibility and curiosity go a long way.

  • We keep things professional but relaxed. Shoots often involve early starts, remote locations, and a bit of physical effort. We’ll never push you past your limits — but we do aim for realism and authenticity.

Expect some hiking or scrambling to get to the right spot, working with natural light (and weather), and a collaborative flow — we guide the visuals, but you bring the energy.

You don’t need to be a trained athlete or performer. You just need to be present, open, and up for the ride.

What We’re after

  • TFP with 8AM is a great fit if you:

    • Want professional, authentic imagery for your own use

    • Are active, expressive, and love being outdoors

    • Value collaboration and process, not just content

    • Are 18+ (or have parental consent)

    • Don’t mind getting muddy, sweaty, or caught in the wind for the shot

It’s not a fit if you’re chasing paid work only, want full image control, or need commercial content for your brand. That’s a different conversation.

  • You’ll mostly wear your own wardrobe — and that’s part of the point. Most of our shoots involve activewear, climbing gear, or rugged outdoor clothing. What matters is that it fits the environment and your personality.

Got a look that’s tasteful and different? Great. Haven’t had a chance to showcase it? Even better. This is where expressive meets real.

Just keep it grounded: if we’re bouldering, you need actual climbing shoes — not boots or heels. Authenticity always wins.

  • The best part of TFP isn’t just the images — it’s the chance to build a working relationship.

If we collaborate well, we’ll likely bring you in on future paid commercial or editorial work. We already shoot for brands, tourism boards, and publishers — and when those jobs land, we reach for people we trust.

TFP is where that trust starts.
